Exibition 09Belgrade > Vilnius

The project "Applied Nostalgia" has been designed as a sequence of exhibitions of photographs taken by two eminent photographers - one from Serbia and one from the EU Presidency country. Since Lithuania was presiding the EU from July to December 2013, Vilnius become ninht capital of Europe, presented to citizents of Serbia in a very special and unique way just as Belgrade was presented to citizens of Lithuania.

The author from Serbia Nenad Petrović visited Vilnius in May, the capital of Lithuania and took photos of places, events and people that remind him of his hometown. At the same time, the author from Vilnius Inga Juodytė spent a week in Belgrade and took photos of the city through the eyes of a "nostalgic photographer". Photos of Nenad and Inga together make an exhibition Applied nostalgia.

The project is promoting cultural values of Serbia in Europe, as well as promoting European ideas and values in Serbia. Since 2013 the project has been implemented by the Serbian European Integration Office, Government of Serbia, which is one of the ways to implement Communication Strategy for the Accession of the Republic of Serbia to the European Union. Belgrade > Vilnius exibition was supported by UNDP Mission in Serbia and British Embassy Belgrade
